It was not that long ago that West Michigan hit record low lake levels which were about two feet below average.  And in only about 4 years, we are now at or above record high lake levels of 1986 at about 4 get above average.  

The contractors working on keeping people's homes and decks from being compromised are staying busy not only on the Lake Michigan shoreline but also on bringing in lifts for people's boats on the inland lakes such as Spring Lake, Lake Macatawa, the Black River and Pentwater Lake.  As well as building docks higher that aren't floating docks.  

But lake levels are on cycles that go up and down over several years (a bit like a wave pattern) and unlike tides of areas such as Florida or Panama, they aren't on a daily basis but on
